Patti,

Sometimes you do absolutely everything they tell you and the kids still get

sick! It is just a fact of CF and CAN NOT be blamed on anyone. I hope the IV's

work quickly, so Ty can come home soon.

mom of 5 with CF

cipro and tobi together

My son Tyler 8 had been on tobi for the full 28 dys, then they added

another 2 wks, the last 3wks of that schedule they added cipro.I

posted

previously that he did not get much better. His pfts improved, but he

still has a crackle so now he gets admitted on Thurs. The dr told me

he would be on zithromax, cf coordinator dumbfounded, says will be

on something else(Iknow I didnt pull that out of the air, I've never

even heard of zithro before, but whatever). But now Im wondering why

the tobi and cipro didnt clear the crackle. He use to do his vest

once daily, but it was upped to twice a day, which might I add was a

living nightmare for me to deal w/my ornery defiant son who hates

the world because of this cf stuff anyway!I did everything I could

just the way I was suppose to I now I feel a little like a failure

(The fact that my husband and family insinuate that its my fault hes

sick to begin with doesnt help.)The stress this cf puts on my

household is, well I cant even find a word for it.But I am aware

that my marriage cant sustain much more, its been a shaky 6 yrs

anyway.(quite frankly I've outgrown him and we'd all be alot better

w/out him but Ted was right when he posted how hard it is to make it

as a single caretaker of a cfer, ESPECIALLY when you have other

children).

Patty, mom to Ty,8,w/cf and 2 wo/cf
