Guest guest
I think you got some great results! I'm paranoid about it, too - I just had my son re-photographed yesterday and I don't see much of a difference except for the supine (on the back) photo looking at the top of the head. The profiles don't really look that different at all to me, but then again it's only been 6 weeks and we're getting ready for a second band... I think your daughter got some great correction - the last set of photos are really the proof... her facial symmetry has really improved and she really acheived some nice rounding on the right side! Jess Mom to Luke - 5.5 months old - 6 weeks in DOC Band Mom to JT - 2 years old - beautiful naturally round head!
Guest guest
i definitely see progress! her face looks very symmetric and there is some rounding at the top and back for sure. are you not satisfied with the results? i am curious how did CT decide when to end treatment with Alyssa? my son started at 8 mos of age and were quoted the standard 3-4 months time frame. (he has moderate brachy) did Alyssa grow out of the band and that is why they ended treatment? or did they just stop seeing results? i dont know your history but from the photos it looks like her case was not too bad to start off with ... are you considering a 2nd band? Guest guest
I think she looks great! Especially the laying down pics you can really see how much improvement she has received with the rounding and the forehead bossing. Do you still her head still looks like it has a flat spot to you ? > > If you get a chance, will you please check out the pictures I posted of > my daughter? Guest guest
Thank you so much for the reassurance! Good luck with the 2nd band. Why are you getting one again at only 6 weeks? Has he grown out of it already? > > I think you got some great results! Guest guest
I think part of me would really like a second band. It would help with my paranoia! lol I'm so worried about regression... I'm happy with the results but I feel in my heart that it could be better. I know she looks great, and the specialist said that her head is near perfect... It's just that when I look at her, I still see what's wrong. Alyssa outgrew her helmet, but we were still seeing results until the very end. She was considered moderate plagio before and is considered very mild now. I guess I'm just nervous. I can't help but look at her and study the shape of her little head. I swear I'm imagining regression already! > > i definitely see progress! her face looks very symmetric and there is > some rounding at the top and back for sure. > > are you not satisfied with the results? i am curious how did CT decide > when to end treatment with Alyssa? my son started at 8 mos of age and > were quoted the standard 3-4 months time frame. Guest guest
Her head still has some flattening on her right side. I'm just hoping that she still might round out some more on her own on that side. > > > > If you get a chance, will you please check out the pictures I > posted of > > my daughter? Guest guest
We won't actually have band #2 for another 2 weeks (so he'll have been in #1 for a total of 8 weeks, which is about how long a DOC lasts when they start at such a young age and grow so quickly - from what I've been told, anyway!). We did the photos this past week and they're working on insurance (so we can get denied! Fun!) and getting the script and letter of medical necessity from my son's pediatrician... he's going to be re-scanned next week, and then hopefully we'll get the new band at the next visit. Guest guest
Hi, I took a look and the front and top views look really good. Seems like the asymmetry is more or less gone. The only one that doesn't look great is the side view - she still seems a little flatter in back than " normal " (although I do see some improvement in this pic too). I know a lot of us don't end up in the normal range even after banding, so it doesn't mean it is a problem. I was just wondering what her cephalic index is, and if she still has some brachy? -christine sydney, almost 3 yrs, starband grad > > If you get a chance, will you please check out the pictures I posted of > my daughter?
