Guest guest Posted November 27, 2008 Report Share Posted November 27, 2008 My son's bands don't fit his headsicles perfectly either and I asked about that. The one reason is because the bands are molded and shaped to a corrected head mold (the abnormal mold is made from the DSi, then they also make a corrected " perfect " mold of what the head should look like and mold the band to that). But they only use the abnormal head shape in the clinics to follow progress of treatment. Another reason is because there is some expanding and contracting that goes on as the material used to make the mold dries (it's a moist moldable compound, something like clay to make it easy to carve/mold, then it has to dry). So the abnormal shape is correct, but the circumference might be a little off. Hope that helps!
