Guest guest
Cathy, I'm not exactly sure what you're meaning here. Are you saying you're going back to re-do the intro diet? It sounds like you are sort of needing to customize the intro to your kids' needs, which is fine, although it's not " technically " the true SCD intro diet, I can understand since the kids can't have eggs or gelatin. I think I would go ahead with some cooked pears and/or peaches after the first day. And get all the illegals out of the house! good luck, Patti Kids allergic/intolerant to most intro foods-Intro question Hi, We are starting the with the soup again.(had to wait for ripe banana) Started diet aug1 was 100% legal for 2 mos,a bit sick from trying nuts/egg/yog, ate illegals for 10days. My kids are intolerant to most intro. foods.no egg, no yogurt, no jello(?it's the knox unflav. gelatine not the diluted tropicana aJ?)... They probably won't eat soup(but we'll try), so I was planning on giving them some banana and more meat and more cooked carrots... Should I wait on the cooked pears and peaches for a couple of days...? Is it better to give them more banana and meat or give them some cooked fruit? They seem to be feeling good..(B's stuttering-behav is much better)...they haven't ate any illegals for a week. I started a small amount of the probiotic also. Guest guest
Patti, There are foods on the intro that they have never ate. I'm trying to stay true to the intro diet, but when we tried it in aug. the eggs, yogurt, cheesecake..dry curd etc. made them sick.My daughter(just one bit..)had to stop eating the above foods, and my son ate more of these and he had to remove these foods too. I tried various nut butters/squash later on and this also made them sick..So we were just eating meats, cooked fruit and veges..In frustration (they were hungry) they ate some rice and potatoes..bad things happened. That is why i wanted to start over. So we should eat the dry curd, gelatine etc. for a couple of days even if they make them sick..?.my daughter might be too allergic to the dairy...yogurt gives my son a stomach ache...That is why i am using the probiotic...I want this intro to work as it should...I can handle them being sick for a few days if I have to. Guest guest
Cathy, You don't have to use the dry curd cottage cheese, or the gelatin, if those foods make your kids sick. Just do the best you can on intro, with what they can tolerate. There are some ideas for intro for kids on the website, www.pecanbread.com under the " Food Preparation " link.... then click " ASD Intro Diet " . Patti Re: Kids allergic/intolerant to most intro foods-Intro question Patti, There are foods on the intro that they have never ate.
