Guest guest
I wrote this long response to you earlier and my computer farted or something and I lost the whole thing. It was probably too verbose anyway. I'm with you 100% on the need for common decentancy and courtesy. Maybe I am just too much an old southern belle but I could never be mean and nasty to someone I haven't slept with...haha. I dont understand your neighbor/secretary one bit. There is a nurse that I worked with who wont even speak to me. You wouldl think that I have been summering in the south of France with her footing the bill the way she has carried on. Yeah I loved spending all my vacation time being cut from stem to stern, not to mention all the wonderful drains and tubes. Having a BLAST aren't we! And nurses are supposed to be compassionate. I wouldn't want a nurse like her. I did call down to personnell yesterday afternoon because I needed to know what I HAD to do to fix this situation and exactly what the situation is. I spoke to a very nice man and told him my story. He asked me some questions and I told him more of the story. He pulled up my personnell record, saw absolutely nothing but good reviews, changed my status to something like, immediate rehire upon application. Or something along those lines. I asked him if it was an issue with the dept that I did not fullfill the exit protocol obligations. He said that he had absolutely no issues with my behavior but had some very serious issues with my nurse manager. He told me if I had any problems with the rehire to contact him personnally, and gave me the number to his direct line. As it turned out, the guy who just happened to answer the phone when I called, who just happened to hear my story, who just happened to answer my q's, is the legal director of Human Resourses and Personnell; or something along those lines. This very nice man just happens to be the absolutly perfect person for me to contact about this very thing!! Is that not a hoot or what!! I would love to see the look on Pats face when she hears from him!! OK, OK, I shouldn't get too happy. The most important thing is that I have a clear record and no problems coming back to work when I am well enough to do so. But still, I hope he nails her to the wall. I hope ya'll are feeling ok. I am very worn out, yesterday was a lot. I also went to a retirement walk in for an old friend while I was at the hosp. It turned out to be also a ceremony for professional recognition. MUSC is huge with well over 10K employees hospital wide. I walked into the crowd saw some familiar faces, and a friend came up to congratulate me. I said for what, she said my name was called for recognition of my publication in that book, thats in its 3rd printing now by the way. Talk about funny, I'm argueing with this woman saying " No! Thats not Me! No Way!! " and my super was there, I avoided her but funny how she heard my name called but I did not. Her name didn't get called..hehe. There were 100's recognized so its not that big a deal, just like the timing. Fliss I have marked the date of your EUS on my calendar. Did you talk with them about the anesthesia? Thats very important that you know exactly how they plan to sedate you. Its also very important for the anes personnel to know your needs as well. I am 100% t- totally for complete gen anes for these procedures. I have had them done both ways, and I want my behind knocked out. Its better all around for the pts and the staff. Be sure to talk with them soon. Love Chrissy
