Memory >> Memory, From what I understand it's better to have it done by your PCP so that if there is a problem with it, you won't waste a trip to Durham for yourself. I think what bloodwork he wants is listed in the manuel. If I'm wrong someone please come in and correct me. Memory >> I'm sorry, I found what I think is it at the clos.net site under what do I need to do to get the Mini Gastric Bypass. It says that the required pre-op CBC, Electrolytes and EKG do not have to be put in the packet, they are to be brought with you. I take that to mean that these are the tests to have done. I was just going to tell my Dr. to do a complete workup on my blood test and hoped it covered anything necessary. I hope I've not confused you more!!!! Guest guest
I was told the pre-op bloodwork and EKG were for the anesthesiologists. I had my work done a week or so before surgery. I gave the results to one of the nurses pre-op for the chart. The anesthesiology staff did not ask for any of this. So, I honestly don't know if they were really needed or not. I'd certainly come with results, but I wouldn't be overly concerned about them being 'the most up to date'. Also - I had my surgery at the Ambulatory Center. Could be their anesthesiology staff has different requirements. Good luck with your surgery. Debbie > What does the blood work need to include for DR R? Guest guest
Hi: I am still pre-op but my pcp knew what test to run for pre-0p. They are pretty much standard and a Dr has to order them anyway. If your pcp orders them your insurance will most likely pay for them. If you think your necessary blood work has been done just ask the lab or the Dr.s office for a copy. These are your records and you shouldn't have any trouble getting them.
