We have BCBS federal employee program and it was covered but that is different

from standard BCBS. Did you include a letter of medical necessity with your

reimbursement claim? That is normally required with most if not all BCBS plans

(from what I've gathered on this board). Also, what state BCBS plan do you have?

It all varies from state to state and may help to post that information to see

if there is anyone with your exact plan that can help you.

send an appeal. Has anyone have experience with BCBS concerning this? Any luck?

I just would like to know the odds, to decide whether it is worth the effort. I

appreciate any suggestions, comments, and support.

Hey ,

We have Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance...Had the vendor check to make sure it

was covered. They said it's covered at 100% of customary charges. The cost was

$3,600. We paid out of pocket first and got a cash discount ($300) so the cost

was $3,300. After going thru alot of red-tape BCBS finally sent us a check for

$1,700. We're appealing. The vendor said that for BCBS in Texas, they've seen

payments from $2,200 all the way up to the the entire amount of $3,600.

So, keep appealing!
