Guest guest
Hello!! I am new to this group but not to pancreatitis. I was diagnosed with pancreatitis in March 2002. Since then I have been in and out of the hospital several times. The worst was in July 2002. I was in for 24 days and then out for another month with a NG feeding tube. I have had 10 stent replacements in the last year and on Tuesday I have to go back and get a nerve block. I have never had the nerve block but my doctor says I am running out of options. I have an appointment scheduled with the surgeons on June 7th for a total pancreatectomy. I am kind of worried about them removing the whole thing. I don't know what other options are left for me though. I go to the best doctors that are somewhat close to me. Dr. Marty Freeman from HCMC in Minneapolis and Dr. Sielaff at University of Minnesota. It is a 6 hour drive for me! My chronic pancreatitis was caused from alcohol which I haven't had since June 30th 2002. Right now I am taking OxyContin, Percocet, Pancrease, and Celexa. I would like to talk to someone who can relate to my problems and maybe have gone through it themselves. Darren Olson
