Good morning all, I hope that this last email of 2003 finds everyone feeling

good. For those of you that aren't I hope the new year brings you great health

.. We haven't been online much for a while due to a bad phone line ... long

story ... very boring! But I am trying to catch up with all the posts and things

happening with my friends.

I wanted to end this year with an update on Christian and to thank everyone

that has made such a big difference in our lives. It has been almost three

years since Christian's diagnoses (2/01) what an eye opening experience. I don't

remember exactly when I found you guys but it seems like I have known ya'll

forever. Thank you for your posts, your advice, your friendship, and for

everything that you share with us. You have made our lives so much better just

because

you are there.

To Our Little Greek Girl, thank you for the phrase " strap on the beast " you

might not realize how much that helps us. We have found that adding the humor

bit to our daily routine helps to have Christian comply without protesting ...

well not much!

Rosemary; you might have coined the phrase " breathe dammit " but I know I say

that at least once a day ... and always think of you and your children. that

phrase has even been uttered by my Mom!

Kim ... without your wisdom where would we be? Becasue of your knowledge I

have been able to educate our doctors and hopefully help other children with cf.

Thank you.

Becki, I have had the privilage to meet you. You and Brad are the best! I

just am thankful that I was given the blessing to be someone that you call

friend. Thanks for helping to get me out of Cracker Barrel Virgindom. Is that a

word? You reach out and help even when you don't feel the best ... and you do a

great Darth Vader impersonation. I hope that you will allow me to help you once

you are listed here in Florida.

Grandma Bev ... who needs to say more! the videos and button, books and

bobbles that you provide are asset that we truly need. Thank you for being so

giving. You have helped me to educate lots of people about cf and given me the

knowledge to do so.

Fred and Pat ... you guys really rock! If you hadn't given us the phrase " one

more bite " would we be where we are now? I don't know but I do know that you

have made a BIG impression on my big guy! Your imput and advice always help

and if I tell Christian that Mr. Fred says ... he listens! You are our E. F

Hutton, probably not just ours either.

and Jim ... I love you guys! I hope and pray that we will be able to

meet someday. your pictures stay on my fridge and I think about you both daily.

When my family has left me you are always there. You understand and you help.

Thank you.

If you have been able to read all this then you (I hope) will be happy to

hear that Christian had a great checkup this month. The last time he was in the

hospital (12/01) his PFTs were 69% ... I never was told that but since joining

this list I have been educated on what to ask. Well, his PFTs on this last

visit was 102%! We also met with his ENT; who had said sinus surgery in January

or February ... sinuses are clear ... see ya in 4 months! Maybe in April but

maybe not! YEAH! To make it even better he is finally in the 50% for his weight

and height. He doesn't go back for 3 more months and he is growing like a

weed! He now is 4' 11 " and 85.5 pounds; when he was diagnosed he was only 52

pounds and still wearing 4T underwear ... don't tell him I told you that part!

Thank you all for everything that you do; even if you don't realize you do

it! I have been truly blessed by knowing all of you. You have made a terrible

experience one that isn't lonely and one that gives me hope. Yes, Fred gotta

love that word HOPE. May the New Year bless each and everyone and bring love,

good health, and continued friendships. God Bless.
