Guest guest
Tracey, Is this fairly recent? Is it possible that she may have the virus Fifth's Disease? charlene Tracey, I'm not sure anyone has responded to your post. I think the red cheeks and face *could* be a result of die-off... but I admit I have never seen this problem with my own child. I am not sure what to suggest except baths with epsom salts to help flush the toxins out. She should drink plenty of water, too. I'll let others see this post and hopefully reply with more ideas. Patti daughters face Hi, My 15yr daughter has a very red face. Her cheeks, chin and nose are bright red. She says that she has hot flushes regularly too. Is there anything she can do to help this? Is this a part of the detoxing stage? Tracey ---------- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. It could be a niacin flush. Skin gets red and sometimes hot. Sheila
Guest guest
Does she (or has she ever?) have/had eczema? I've noticed that during die-off my son's eczema returned with a vengeance for a day or two. Do her joints ache as well? I had parvovirus at her age and it was very much like that. A red rash (sometimes itchy) and hot flashes. When I would get a hot flash, that's when the rash would appear the worst. It also causes achey joints and just a general run down feeling. You can get it from a dog, but you can also get it from tap water (how I got it). Hope this helps! Corin
Guest guest
Parvovirus B19 (aka Fifth disease) is the human virus. You can NOT contract parvo from an animal. Read the following for more info: http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dvrd/revb/respiratory/parvo_b19.htm Luann Re: daughters face Does she (or has she ever?) have/had eczema? Guest guest
My son (ASD), 2years old also has this. From what I understand, the parvovirus rash (red cheeks and chin with white around the lips and nose area) usually occurs 3-4 weeks after exposure to parvovirus, long after the virus has come and gone. The rash can flare up for months, In normal children and nothing is usually done. My son has had the parvo flare ups for about two months now, and they are increasing with the SCD diet. Epsom salt baths also seem to make the rash flare up more, but I don't know weather that is good or bad. I was just told by my Therapist MD to just make my Doctor aware of the fact that my child has possibly been exposed to parvovirus and as of now we are doing nothing, but monitoring the flare up length and severity. -sarah
Guest guest
Thanks for clarifying Luann. I stand corrected. Guest guest
Thank you everyone for your responses. The link was very helpful. Initially I was blaming the dogs. Teagan was having a fit. Thank you again Tracey Re: daughters face Does she (or has she ever?) have/had eczema? Guest guest
I had the same reaction as you did. But the doctor showed me the defination of fifth disease and I was fine after that. Then I did my own research on webmd and I felt better.
