Guest guest
Hi All, I've not been posting very much the last four days or so because I've been laid up with pain again. I knew it would happen sooner or later, but after about two to three weeks of pain that was so minimal that I was able to be active and busy like the old days, I was spoiled. For a while there it was like the early days of my CP when I only needed meds every three weeks or so, and then sparingly. But darn, the pains started up with regular tempo again this week, so the honeymoon is over. I've been trying to take it easy the best I can because I want to be in good health this week to go visit my cousin's in North Myrtle Beach for a two day reunion. When I was a child, my twelve cousins, and my two brothers and I, spent our summers together at our camp on Lake Placid that our parents had bought together. The four couples (our parents), bought the camp and each family had their own week where they could stay there by themselves, and then the remainder of the summer it was open-house for all the familes to share together. Wow!! Those weeks at camp were some of the happiest days of my childhood and early teens, and the bond formed between us cousins was one that lasts a lifetime. All twelve of us were within the ages of 5 -10, so you can imagine the jokes, games and pranks that we would play on each other....or our parents!! Although I only get to see these cousins once every 5-8 years now (weddings or funerals), since we are all scattered through the country, reunions with them are wonderful and wickedly fun. So I'm trying hard to keep my pancreas happy enough so I can enjoy this get-together on Tuesday. Even though I had a four day heavy pain cycle, I do believe that this upgraded dosage of the patch with the oxycodone for breakthrough is working well. I'm hoping that this week's pain was just a temporary set-back, not an indication that the patch has already lost it's effectiveness. It was (is) my hope that this medication arrangement would serve me well for many months ahead. I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend and better spring weather. I plan to do the same. I'll be offline most of next week, and hope everyone will be doing well. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina SC & SE Regional Rep.
