Hey Debbie, I went to Walgreens, and Robin went to a different Walgreens, and

they both called Dr. R.'s office to verify. Actually, I went to the one in

Kankakee, so you could have your sister pick it up and fed ex it to you.. or

I could do it. Or maybe your PCP would write the prescriptions if you took

the list to him? Maybe Virginia just has wacky laws. I didn't get the post

op drugs until after surgery. My brother went to the Kroger on Hillsborough

Road and got all the post op stuff for me. If you are paying cash, watch

out, it's expensive!

It depends on what kind of BCBS network you have, I think. I live in IL,

and have BCBS of Minnesota. Since Dr. R. is in the BCBS network in NC, my

policy states that he is in network for me, too. I don't think they have

paid yet, but I expect them to pay at in network rates when they do pay.

Good luck!

I believe it was stated at clinic that you can call the office and

give them the phamacy's phone number you want to use and they will

call them to work it out. Call the office in the morning and ask

Barbara about that.

Hello there. I'm new to the group. I live in Virginia and am

considering the RNY vs. the MGB.

The MGB wins hads down, exept for the insurance hassle and the extra

delay. I just waited 10 weeks to see a bariatric surgeon, and was

approved 9/1 by him for the RNY. THEN I learned about the MGB

(sighhhh...).

I doubt Trigon Blue Cross Blue Shield Key Advantage will pay, and it's

less likely Dr. R is a " preferred provder " , being so far away.

Any info out there on this insurance? Any other Virginians interested

in a Charlottesville area MGB in-person group?

Thanks!

Call Barbara at Dr. R's office and tell her what the pharmacy said and give

her your pharmacys number. They can call a verbal order to the pharmacy and

would not need a script. I left a message on Dr. R. voice mail with the name

of the pharmacy and the number and a brief message saying I need me pre and

post op meds and they called it in. Took a day to get it but now I have all

of my pre and post op meds.

Debbie make sure they call in your post op meds too because I've heard other

people say they were having difficulty getting the post op meds filled after

surgery.

Debbie are you in southern va or northern va, I live in Oxford, NC which is

only about 30 minutes from sville Va and 45 minutes from South Hill I

was wondering if you could get your meds filled here in NC? I just went to

Walmart here locally and asked that they call and I had my scripts the next

day.

I am so close to getting my packet done. My husband just took my film to

WalMart's to have developed. He also is picking up my PCP letter and exam

results. Maybe tomorrow I can FedEx it. Oh my I will loose so much weight

now from nerves that I may not be eligible. Duh?

About the meds. I use WalMart Pharmacy. Wonder could Dr. R. call in my pre

and post op meds to a local WalMart for me to pick up when I get to Durham?

Has anyone had problems like that?
