Guest guest
Our daughter got fitted for a helmet last week and we are waiting for it to come in. I read through some web sites and many said the need for this was cosmetic only but the physical therapist (our daughter has torticollis as well) said it is important to wear the helmet so the brain can grow properly. Can anyone please tell me what you have heard in this regard. Also, my daughter's pediatrician said the only real way to know whether it is plagiocephaly or craniosynotosis is the take an x-ray but did not suggest that we do so as it appears to be plagiocephaly (flat on the right side). If anyone has any information on craniosynotosis and what would happen if it was that and she was not treated, please let me know. I don't think it is however because her head is very big (97%) and the nurse said it would not grow that big if it was that. Thanks for any feedback in advance.
