It is hard to see her go through this process.I am glad that I have this online support group. From: ajsmom0209 <ajsmom0209@...>Plagiocephaly Sent: Monday, August 17, 2009 3:48:01 PMSubject: Re: How to help baby sleep with the helmet? , My son got his band at 5 months and also had trouble sleeping in it. We decided on put him on his belly since he can roll over if he wants too. He started sleeping through the night again. Before we decided to do this, I took a wedge and instead of putting his back it in we put his head in it. He couldn't move his head that much so he didn't wake himself wake as much. He still woke up some. Hope this helps!! Tabatha > > Dear Group members, > > My baby girl is 6 months old. Due to torticollis, she has developed a mis-shapen head. She started to wear a helmet a week ago, but it has been horrible for her. She would cry constantly once the helmet is on and she cannot sleep well. Can group give me some suggestions regarding what I can do to help her sleep better? Thank you very much > > >
Guest guest
What we do with my son is while we're rocking him just before placing him into his crib, we take off his helmet. Then, when we know he's asleep (usually about 10 minutes later), my husband lifts up his head gently and I slide the helmet on. He doesn't even notice. If we put him to bed with the helmet on, he gets really irritated since his body is "settling" and the shifting of the helmet makes it hard for him to fall asleep.Good luck, I know how difficult it is!From: ajsmom0209 <ajsmom0209@...>Subject: Re: How to help baby sleep with the helmet?Plagiocephaly Date: Friday, August 21, 2009, 8:40 PM You're welcome, I know that it is very hard to see them unhappy. My son is finally having good luck with his. He had a rough start they threw away his first band because it rubbed a blister on him. I wasn't very happy. This new band is working so far. He has had it a little over a week. I hope that your little girl will adjust soon for both your sakes. > > > > Dear Group members, > > > > My baby girl is 6 months old. Guest guest
Hi, we got the doc band on my son yesterday and last night he had trouble sleeping, today I changed his crib mattress for a softer one and so far he is enjoying it and has been able to sleep very well for his naps. I think our previous one was just too hard. We’ll see how tonight goes.
