Guest guest
Dear Chrissy, Ah, I can relate to the pain of that first summer sunburn, oouch! It's something awful and I learned my lesson long ago to limit myself the first few days to only 1/2 hour, then 1 hour, etc. until a good base tan is built without any burning. How long were you at the beach? Perspiration seems to render the sunscreens useless, as does swimming. An SPF 30 SHOULD have given you maximum protection though....Bob uses a Bullfrog gel with an SPF 30 and can and does stay out on the water all day. He does have to reapply once or twice during the day, but he says it's as effective as wearing long pants. I have enough olive skin tone to tan well and darkly, and I seldom use any suncreen at all, right now it looks like I spent 8 hours a day for several weeks out there...but that's just the way I tan. I haven't had a burn in several years. I don't blame you for venting about the product you bought, especially knowing that other's do work and this one didn't. If it were me, I'd complain, too. You depended upon the product and it didn't live up to it's claims or your expectations! I hope you were able to get the bike up to snuff. I wanted to take mine out on Saturday and when I climbed on, both tires were nearly flat. Biking is still one source of exercise that I can and do enjoy without pancreas penalty.....there are so few left! I'm so glad that you are feeling so much better, despite the horrible discomfort of the sunburns. Do you have some pure aloe, even an aloe plant? If not, run down to the pharmacy and get some commercial aloe and slather that all over everyone. It does the best job that I know of to take away the sting of the burn and help heal. Fruit of the Earth makes a pure gel that's 100% Aloe Vera - Walmart sells it. Back to your feeling well....that's just great, Chrissy. Seeing this day by day improvement must really lift your spirits. Are you still aiming for that end of June deadline for a return to work? All the family must be so happy to see you feeling well and acting more like normal again, I know they must have been worried all the time you were sick and miserable. Keep up the great days!
