Guest guest
I feel proud of myself today. I gave my first 500ml of blood to the red cross. At first they were not going to let me give it as I have had dental work this week and a operation in the last 12months. But after I pleaded (I wasn't getting worked up for nothing) that I had no blood products at the operation and no needles at the dentist, and she made a call to the main office it went ahead. It was so simple, wont say pain free, but nothing really, cant believe I didn't do it before. I have also picked up forms for bone marrow registry. Has anyone ever done that and do they put you to sleep? That's my only criteria I must be asleep. So I hope good Karma comes to us if Eilish every needs anything now. Someone there was telling me something about collecting stem cells? What would this be for? My ears always prick up when stem cells are mentioned. I hope like crazy that they might find a cure through that. Speaking of cures Eilish said to me yesterday that when they find the cure she wont need her new lungs then and someone else can have them. I think she thinks there in storage for her somewhere just waiting till she wants them. She knows about transplants as we have a few friends who have had them, one even had a heart/double lung about 13 years ago now and is fit as a fiddle. Better go bake my mum a birthday cake now as its her birthday tomorrow, 21 AGAIN. (Australia)
