Guest guest
Starbright is great!! Savannah has been with them for 2 yrs. now. They have a a program where the kids can get on at home just like they do at some hospitals. They even have a computer scholarship program to help children get a home computer if they don't have access to one. If you have any questions just check out their web site or call. They were great to answer all of our questions. Mom to 2 w/o CF and Savannah w/ CF
Guest guest
Greetings One and All: I just learned about an interesting program from our CF Nurse, Cindy. Starbright Foundation produces CD-Rom (games) for kids with chronic illnesses to help them cope with their medical routines and required lifestyle. I just ordered one for my girlies, so I don't exactly know what it's like yet, but it's FREE! The company is also sending me a video tape to share with Alec and Lizzi's school/class post hospitalization (as needed) to help their peers/faculty understand the importance of hygiene issues....to reduce teasing...etc. So here's the web page: www.starbright.org Simply log on and punch through the windows to examine the various products. There is a phone number to call to place the order. We'll have to have a chat room discussion to evaluate the products sometime down the road. :-) MLH (PS: Alec and Lizzi just competed in their first Feis -Irish Dancing Competition. Alec took two 3rds and a 2nd. Lizzi, two 1sts and a 2nd. Not bad for two kids with lung disease. Plus, its great aerobic exercise, and my two are passionate about it. I highly recommend it.) Marilyn M. -Hampton Counselor, Miramonte High School mlewis-hampton@... Aunt Jill Jill, Glad to have you on this list. There are some really great people who post. You will learn a LOT! Sounds like you already have a fair amount of knowledge of CF. Your niece is very lucky to have an Aunt who loves her so much. I am an Aunt, too. Welcome aboard.
