She thought I was lieing. , Only a few specific control numbers of the duragesic 75 mg. patches are leaking, and all of those control numbers have been recalled and taken off the shelves. Tull posted a notice about the first lot that they found back in February, and then about three weeks ago, I posted a notice about the second lot that was recalled. If you check through the archives under " Duragesic Patch " I'm sure you can find my earlier message that shows what the control number is that was recalled. It's my understanding from Janssen that it was only two specific lots of the 75 mg. patches that were defective, none of the 25, 50 or 100 mg. patches were found to be leaking. Oddly enough, I was on the telephone with a Janssen representative when I found out about the second recall, two days before the official warnings were posted. Janssen is the manufacturer of Duragesic patches. I'd called them to order a refill of the Bioclusive adhesive films that you can wear over the patches, if you have problems keeping them on. The woman I was talking with asked me what the control number was on my 75 mg. patch, and it was one of those that had just been brought up for recall, so I notified my doctor and got a new prescription. The recall was done because a " few " of the 75 mg. patches were found defective. Your pharmacist receives a notification of any recalled lot numbers as soon as the medication is recalled, and would not be dispensing anything that was recalled unless the recall notice came in after he'd filled a prescription. If you're concerned about using the 75 mg. patches because of this, you can have your doctor substitute your prescription for a month's supply of 50 and 25 mg. patches, instead. I hope you are doing well, , and looking forward to your surgery. Please let us know what the date is going to be. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H.
