Guest guest
I had a transduodenal sphincteroplasty in Oct '03. I went back to work the following Jan 1, 04 and on the 31st I collapsed at work. I was admitted and they did all the test, mrcp, ercp put in a peg and told me my panc was shot and I needed a tp/ict and my doc sent me to the U of Cinci for evauluation. The doctor there felt that my panc was not sick enough " yet " . I returned home still in pain and everything else so my docs here did a Beger procedure last april. Well I am still having the problems, still with pain, but it is more localized, not so much nausea, some, but not too bad. I dont eat much but am maintaining my weight. I mainly eat fat free icecream, and fruit. So my doc sent the pathology results from the resected part of my panc that indicates the extent of the disease to the doc in Cinci. He said those findings are the decision maker. All the pts that have had the tp/ict had already had a resection with slides indicating the degree of damage which is indisputable. Plus the surgical resections, whether they be whipples or begers, failed to give relief of symptoms. My doc here feels even more strongly now that I need the total. Wish the cinci doc agreed last winter, would have saved me a lot of heartache. I think it turned out well the situation with my super. Please read the post to nd Fliss, its kind of lengthy and I dont want to rehash it all but it does appear that maybe she will get hers in the long run. Hope I answered your question, I dont know what the doc in Cinci will say as he is out of town until next week. I should hear somethng then. Take care, Chrissy
