seeking opinions... re: clozaril / zyprexa

Hey guys

I'm getting into a 'stuck' position here... Wondered about some

opinions or advice....

Without getting into all the dirty little secrets, but without

embellishments or omissions, I can bullet:

After a few commercials and then some followup research, I am now

aware that I have been prescribed two different medications in my

past, 91-98, that the FDA has linked to causing or at least being

contributive to OUR particular desease.

Clozaril.. maximum doses.. upwards of 400 mg a day, I believe it was

more like 700... more commen doses are 100-200... from 91-94... With

my 1st really REALLY terrible and onlasting attack of abdominal pain

in Dec. of 94, that was the 'off to the VA Lev' for 4 months of

torture... AMA, and off to a private hospital, I WAS diagnosed with

Pancreatitus after a pump implant in 95...

Point is- Clozaril / Pancreatitus

WHILE suffering recurrant attacks, still, in 98, a doc precribed to

me, and I ingested Zyprexa... Now seeing commercials that say IT

causes Panc, Diabetes, Blood sugar abnormality... or CAN CAUSE..

whoops.. don't wanna mispeak... Twas after that med, that I began

requiring hospitalizations monthly with terrible recurrant episodes,

which now ravage me weekly.

Zyprexa / Pancreatitus

Now... Without having a doc yet that can give me a definitive reason

of " WHY " (closest line of thinking, admittedly a 'guess' from the

doc, is that it's some tpe of resessive gene) it's not a hard stretch

for me... Now that I am seeing others evidence of the correlation, to

wonder if these are the things which contributed to the desease...

I will be having this conversation with my group of physicians come

Monday, as honestly, until yesterday, I had NO CLUE that these meds

were on a list somewhere...

From the info I have gleaned, in 2001 the FDA made the announcment on

Clozaril...

I'm seeking a rainmaker.. an Brockavich type, or someone who may

know one...

I don't have the strength and or energy to get out the phone book and

start at A then head to Z... before getting off the A page, the

number of rejections again get me in a slump and start turning what I

believed was good logical commen sense into, well... screww it..

suffer... Mainly because the answer back, while negative, is lacking

in WHY it's a " no " .

My line of thinking is that IF a Major Pharmo Company is in any way

culpable, by ignorance or from a more insidious design, that the GOVT

would want THEM to dig deep, and find a way to GET ME OFF

disability...

So...

I know it's really a whack deal to try to go to bat for someone you

run into 'off the net'...

But-- IF anyone has any advice, a lead, anything cunstructive,

please... hit me.

I can document all of the meds in question, I have doctor names,

addy's etc... I have no problem documenting the desease, I AM on

federal disability...

Also... If it is the learned opinion that I need to " just shut the

heck up and dance " , I can here that too... I mean, We, myself and my

12 yr old, we DO make it thru each month and only bounce 300 dollars

in checks, we DO have health insurance thru the state and me thru

Medicare... We DO have a couple of good days each month... SOME,

MANY? don't have it near as good as we...
