Guest guest
I know this question has probably been asked before, but I was wondering if I could pick everyone's brain for ideas for what I can give my daughter for lunch in her lunchbox for school. At home she eats well because everything is prepared in the oven, but she doesn't eat many cold items. She hates all of the scd bread and crackers. Any ideas? Thanks, Debbie, IBD, scd 3 months

Some will depend on what she tolerates: There are some lunch ideas at: http://www.pecanbread.com/foodprep.html#menu " Thermal Bags Portable, inexpensive, and reusable. They keep food hot or cold up to three hours for school lunches or camping. " from http://www.pecanbread.com/foodprep.html#equip Some people also find a good thermos can keep a meal hot for a long time. More ideas at: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/pecanbread/message/54340 http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/pecanbread/message/11802 I make sandwich buns out of 1/2 a ripe avocado and 1 egg (whip together until smooth and then pan fry like a pancake). I use them for chicken salad, grilled cheese, hamburger buns etc. Sheila, SCD 2/01, UC 22yrs mom of and
Guest guest
hi we homemake sausages and add those in - my boys love them and they are surprisingly easy to make plus its a good way of adding in extra veggies, we make cheese crackers, i make a tomato pasta sauce, that kai likes spread on top, then topped with scd legal ham, i make burgers for him to dip in homemade mayo and tomato sauce, i also make cottage pie, making a medley (butternut squash, carrots, green beans, 1/2 avocado, zuchinni all peeled, cooked pureed with hand blender with addition of goat butter) from legal veggies to replace the potato and using egg to thicken the meat, beef crust pizza he alsoenjoys, chicken pancakes with honey, yogurt with pureed fruit, homemade fruit leathers, and hes just started tolerating the honey muffins - hurah - (in fact my friends son who is asd and will only eat tesco pancakes and pot noodles and roast chicken even sneaked one of these off me and then came back in demanding more to my delight so they may be worth a try - let me know if you need the recipie - ive also made them combined with pecan flour and they are very creamy so it might be worth trying her with that????? mine arent fond of the bread either), so ill be adding one of those in as well, also amoothies, jelly we add too i freeze it the night before and put it in a chill bag in the morning so by lunchtime its defrosted but still set, hth regards emma 32 kai asd dspx 8 fian 3 behaviourally recovered due to enzymes but many bowel issues, scd about 8/9 weeks now 2nd time round > > Hi Debbie, > > > I know this question has probably been asked before, but I was > > wondering if I could pick everyone's brain for ideas for what I > can > > give my daughter for lunch in her lunchbox for school.
