Hi,

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for their advice on how to treat

sinus infections and to tell everyone about the success I had with it!!!

Two of my children, both with CF, were on an antibiotic which they finished

about 2 weeks ago. 3-4 days after finishing the antibiotic their sinus

infection started up again. The discharge first clear then white then yellow

then GREEN!!! (sorry to be so graphic) I tried to follow the doctors advice

which was to keep cleaning their nose out with saline 5 times a day and give

them Rynatan which is a decongestent. They were both getting worse day by day

(no cough just really stuff up) The doctors wanted to start them on antibiotic.

I starting following the suggestions from everyone here.....switched from

Rynatan to Robitussin....started to use Xlear nasal wash and tea tree oil

inhalations. I am absolutely amazed. Within two days their nose is clear .....

They can both breath through their nose again !!!! I am so HAPPY not to have

to start them on an antibiotic again. I hope this continues.

My clinic does not believe in using Robitussin because they believe it just

increases the mucous, but when I was using the Rynatan it was just getting

worse. Does any other clinics recommend not to use Robitussin?

Well thank you so much. I sometimes feel the people on this list know more

about how to treat CF then our doctors do.

Vicki
