Hello my name is and I am 23 years old and from Boone N.C. I am a

pre-op and hopefully (pending approval) will be a post-op. I was recently

diagnosed with type II diabetes and polycystic ovarian disease. These are

very serious illnesses that can lead to even more severe illnesses. I have

fully researched this and statistics do not lie. This is my life, and if my

primary physican were to say those things to me than I would find a new one.

I can not forgive ignorance sometimes. My philosophy is that I have one life

to live and I am not going to let one persons opinion stop me from what I

believe I need. The truth is that even with his threat that you will get

cancer still wont miraculously change the fact that you are a vuluptous

woman. I mean if it was that easy, just a simple threat of an illness, we

would all have lost the weight on our own by now. The truth is that obesity

is a severe illness a disease, and maybe your PCP just isnt as aware as

he/she should be. If they didnt even read the info before coming to that

conclusion, than dont take their unresearched opinion to heart. Smile and

hang in there. We will all support what ever decision you make. But my

advice would be to find a new PCP who cares enough about you to read

thoroughly through the information before making a judgement. Sincerly

someone who cares and understands.
