Guest guest
My daughter is eating a lot of sphagetti squash. The gas she has is ridiculous. She doesn't have any pain or discomfort that i know of. Her bm's seem fine. Should I be worried about all the gas...I don't want to slow down healing..she really loves sphagetti and meatballs...we rely on this to fill her up.(no yogurt, no nuts, no eggs) thanks, Cathy scd 3.5mos..., ....celiacs
Guest guest
I suspect that the spagetti squash is just too fibrous for her right now. My daughter can't tolerate it.... SCD since May. Can you substitute zucchini noodles maybe? Find the small, slender zukes.... peel all the green off, and then just keep peeling to get long strips, until you get to the center. If the inner core is really seedy, just toss it. You *can* slice those into narrower slices if she really needs it to look like spagetti... or cut it into any length or width you want. I just think the gas is a symptom of not being *quite* able to break down and properly digest something.... and the thing to remember is that anything that is not being digested could potentially feed bad gut pathogens. If she's having great quantities of any one thing, that's always going to be the red flag I look at first. Patti Re: Squash and excessive gas My daughter is eating a lot of sphagetti squash.
