Hi, today i was really proud of myself for getting my son the starband at young

age, even though he had a mild case. I went shopping today for the first time

with my son (6 months old 3 weeks in starband). All the children in the

supermarket stared at my sons helmet. Anyway I bumped into a friend of mine, she

saw my son in the band and showed me her son 's head. He has a big bump on 1

side of his head. The other side is pretty flat. It looks bad. He is 18 months

old. I fealt so sorry for her. She said she went to the orthotist and they told

her that it is too late for a band.

Did anybody do a band at that age and it helped?

Thanks

Miriam

Hi,

My understanding is cranial technology bands babies up to 18-20

months. I would assume it helps some, or they probably wouldn't do

it. I think many Starband orthos, mine included, believe that after 18

months it is too late. Your friend may also want to consider

alternative therapies such as chiro and/or CST. I'm really interested

in hearing what others on this board have to say, since I don't expect

my son's case to be resolved by 18 months and I would really like to

continue treatment.

I know of another person here who used 2 DOC bands on her son starting at 17 months and couldn't be happier that she did. Her name is and her son is Jake. You can check his pictures in the J folder.
