Guest guest
Hi, all: First, happy two months' postop to my littermates (and you know who you are!). Hope this finds you well and thriving after the MGB. Following is the wit and wisdom of Blair : I'm doing very well on this second month anniversary. After doing 30 minutes on the EFX machine and lifting weights for another 45 minutes, I weighed - I'm now down 30 pounds! But I don't honestly know which feels better - telling you that I did an hour's worth of exercise, that would have daunted me two months ago, or that I've lost that much weight. You can congratulate Dr. R. on the weight loss, and me on the exercise achievements! I'm also playing tennis a couple of times a week, but I wouldn't worry for Venus or Serena... After some problems with nausea and fatigue in the first six weeks after surgery, Dr. R. put me on an estrogen patch. I'm doing much better. I can eat pretty much anything that I want now, but I am careful about it. After some recent controversy over stomach cancer and bile reflux, I'm staying away from most meats and focusing on a more Ornish-type diet - fresh stuff, unprocessed. My main beverage is water. I take my supplements and Citrucel religiously! In two months, I've plateaued twice - once at 260, then at 250. Now, at 240, I'll probably hang out there for a while. I hate hearing this, but I'll repeat it all the same: STAY OFF THE SCALES - THEY'RE BAD FOR YOUR HEAD. Focus on other stuff, like exercise and trying new recipes or buying new clothes or something. I am now down to a size 22 in pants, and a 14/16 in shirts. My shoes are looser, my rings are falling off. People are noticing my weight loss now, and my friends, on this list, and in my little town in the mountains of North Carolina, are supportive of my efforts. I look forward to hearing from all of my littermates, and from anyone else. Preops, if you need a contact, I'm happy to be one. Just contact me through my email address with your questions about the surgery. I hope you're all doing well. Lots of love from Blair MGB 8/9/
