You can even use various types of cream, even whipping cream but none can contain addtiveslike carrageenan. I have never seen goat cream in stores but according to the Internet, it does exist and is very pale white in color. . You can still get a thick textured goat yogurt by dripping the chilled yogurt through cheesecloth, a tea towel or a paper coffee filter for several hours. I never attempted to drip French Cream which might be an interesting experiment if it can be dripped.. There is a delicious recipe for a Bavarian Cream cake frosting here: http://uclbs.org/recipes/desserts/sueyogurtbavarian.php Carol F. That includes legal powdered starters or legal yogurt used as a starter. There are legal starters listed at http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/beginners_guide/beginners.htm Go to " SCD Yogurt " and scroll down until you see " The Type of starter to use " . The GIProHealth ProGurt should also work. > > HAve you or anyone else had good luck with the french cream? I've made it with Yogourmet freeze dried starter and it is delicious.
