Guest guest
Hi Glenda Well it started off ok, the weekend that is. But Saturday Morning, I woke up with a headache from you know where. By about 10 am my face and nose were swelling like you know what, and then both ears swelled shut, and the dizziness set in. Had to hold on to the furniture just to walk across the room. Tell me what is it that when your so dizzy you can hardly move, and your body decides you have to go to the bathroom 50 times that day, whats the connection. well whatever it is I hate it. So I finally gave in and started back on pred. Today the ears are red but not really swollen, the pred has at least relieved the dizziness. Oh well enough of my whinning, it just bugs me that about the time you think you have this cRaP kicked in the ass, it turns around and bites you in the ass. Guess i didn't run fast enough, so it caught up with me. I'm doing better today, just sort of wiped out. sorry , i usually don't whine, but i just feel rotten and had to get it out. love you guys dawn Glenda McClennen wrote: Dawn What would we do without you??? REMEMBER!!! Next time you need to run faster so the RP can't catch up and bite you in the ass! Darn....If that was the only place it bit you that wouldn't actually be too bad! Sending good thoughts and prayers that the pred kicks in soon and you are on the mend in no time. Lots of Love Glenda

Has this > every happened to any one. > dawn > Dawn, it has happened to me with both shoulders (fortunately not at the same time) The first time was before I had a dx of RP (although I am sure I had already had it for some time) It was accompanied by a horrific shooting pain down my arm. I went to see an orthopadic surgeon, he x rayed it, and said the joint looked a bit narrow, so he wanted to do an MRI followed by surgery. Well, like all us clever people, I didn't want to do surgery so I said could I try physical therapy. He said sure, while shurgging his shoulders. Its up to you. Well of course the PT so sooo painful I couldn't do it. I eventually went for the MRI, and he showed me what was happening, a bony spur was rubbing on the tendon and damaging it (hence the pain down the arm). I had surgery, felt awful afterwards, had to go on pred, but eventually 6 mos - 12 months if I remember later it was 100 per cent OK. About two years later it happended on the other side, I did not mess about, I went and got it sorted staight away!! It wasn't as bad post surgery as the first time, but by this time I was aware of the RP, they used a child's tube for the anaesthesia, my throat was still v. painful afterwards but overall I did not feel so ill. The rehab took just as long, swimming or water exercises was the most helpful thing. Now my shoulders are my two best joints!!!! What they did was remove the offending bit of bone and a bit of cartilage, and made the joint more roomy and repaired the tendon which was torn. I have gone into a bit of detail, so that if it doesn't go away you will have yours looked at earlier rather than later! I suffered unnecessarily for almost two years because I was stubborn!!! Feel better Dawn, love Liz WE ARE NOT MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS, THEREFORE ANY > INFORMATION THAT IS RECEIVED HERE IS FROM EXPERIENCE > ONLY.
