Guest guest
thanks, . I thought there were others who had success at over a year. I just hope the ortho doesn't tell us to stop at 14 months if we haven't gotten the correction we want. But I guess I will worry about that when the time comes. thanks again, lisa > > > > My son had torticollis and at 2 months we noticed his head was flat on the right. We did the stretching and repo for a long time. Our PT said at 6 months that he went from 8mm to 3 mm and that 3 mm off was considered normal. I felt like his head was still off but I didn't pursue it b/c I really liked the idea of not helmeting. > > > > Fast forward to today at 10.5 months. I was still kind of bothered so we went to an orthotics place for a consult, and he measured him to be 7 mm off and a CI of 90%. I'm so regretful that I didn't look into the helmet earlier when it was winter and he was younger. My baby probably won't get his helmet until he's after 11 months now. Regret has to be the worst feeling ever. > > > > some questions: the specialist we talked to said that after 14 months, the head grows but doesn't change shape - that the whole head just grows as one unit at that point. is that true? > > > > also, the place we went to is a local place and their helmets are the see-through plastic ones - not the foam ones. Does anyone have any experience in those? > > > > thanks for the help. this group is great. > > >
