Chanda

My Ped had a couple of pediatric physical therapy places as

referrals - one was " The Pediatric Place " which I believe is

nationwide ( I am in Chicago).

HOwever, I called some of my local hospitals and they had physical

therapists who specialize in Peds. We just started going to one who

only sees children and deals ALOT with Tort.

If your gut is telling you to pursue PT - I wouldn't wait. A mom

knows best when it comes to her own child!

Good Luck!

cranial helmet and he is done! So happy - it worked great. We fixed

his plagio 90%. We went to PT starting at 5 months for about 6-7

weeks I think it was. He really got better and the PT shows you so

much that you can do at home and continue to do after you are done

with PT. A lot got better and he became so strong sitting up.

is 10 months - he is not doing some things that he should be so I

asked the doctor about it and she said PT would probably not be

covered just for gross motor delay so to use our county based program

called Early On. So I called yesterday and they come to my home in

about 2 weeks. So if they say he is fine, just a little behind in

gross motor, I will feel better. If they say, yep he should be

crawling, he should be able to sit himslef up from a lying position,

he should be able to pull up on things better than he does, he

shouldn't be slouching (leaning) in his high chair - then we can move

forward with strengthening. I believe he just isn't as strong as he

should be. But he is so smart and he does walk while we hold his

hands....so those things make us comfortable that the other stuff,

just needs a little work.

with Tort, did you see a delay in gross motor skills later in the

game? (Meaning he had PT when he was 5-6 months and now he is 10

months and lagging behind a little with gross motor.)
