Guest guest
My son is 7 months old and has been in his DOCband for 9 weeks and has 4 weeks left in it. My son also has flatness in the back of his head. The front and side is much better now. Cranial Tech told me that if I want a second band for the back it would be my hubbys and my choice because it is not severe. When I look at him I still see it and to me it is very flat. My hubby is also having a hard time with the flatness and since we have done this much so far with one band, we are strongly thinking about the second one just to try and finish the work that has already started. Our insurance did not pay for the first one and neither will they pay for the second one. So we will have to pay the whole amount for the band but it is very worth it. Good luck on what you decide. He has an moderate plagiocephaly, with asymmetric shape. We decided to start the treatment with the DOC band and he has been wearing it for 5 weeks now. When I take the band off, I see that the asymmetry is reduced now, but he still has a flatness in the back of the head. I was wondering whether this would get better, or whether he would need another band to fix this. The technician at Cranial tech. said he has about 5 more weeks to go with the current DOC band, and we would see about the possibility of another band. I am very reluctant to this. Anyone experienced a similar situation? Thanks!
