Guest guest
The past 2 days I've been having a bit of the yogurt in a smoothie that I share with 2 of my kids. Yesterday I increased the amount of yogurt (about 2 T in a large smoothie); I got a bit more of it then the kids. I noticed some die off symptoms in the kids the past couple of days - hyperactivity etc. For myself I was extra tired. Last night around midnight I woke up with severe stomach pains, chills & just a wierd all around feeling & some gas. I put up with it for a while, then got up and took a homeopathic for flu symptoms. Very short time later it went away & I went to sleep. Could that have been flu or some wierd reaction to the yogurt? I also got some infractions from the homeopathic becz it was one of those that has sucrose & lactose base. I had to have it ( & glad it helped) becz I just can't not be able to function since I'm it around here for cooking etc. So now I hope that doesn't totally mess me up with SCD; I'm just back on today. I'd rather not do intro again becz I hate all the chicken & am hungry with baby nursing so much. Wish I could lose weight like that other lady did but no such luck here yet. I know it's not a weight loss diet, but I've heard people can get to their healthy weight easier this way. Should I continue with the yogurt today, only with less, & see what happens? Thanks for the responses on organization - I really need to rely on myself being better organized at the moment. I have no desire to ask for outside help & deal with all the problems that comes with that right now. That's more then I can handle at the moment. Thanks again, Michele
Guest guest
I'm sad to hear that asking for outside help would result in anything that would be too much for you to handle. I should be a great help, but if it wouldn't be for some reason, then obviously you shouldn't do it. I will think on some organizational tactics that you can do on your own. My guess would be that you were experiencing die off symptoms. Can you take some activated charcoal next time instead of your illegal flu remedy? You may not need to go back to intro, but it might not be a bad idea to do it for one day to get back on track since you're so early on. You can do a bit less yogurt today if you want, or just use the same amount and see what the result is today. Remember to try the charcoal if you get those flu like symptoms to see if that helps. Michele you can't tell whether it was the homeopathic remedy or the yogurt unless you try one without the other. We understand that sometimes a medication containing illegals is necessary but it can cause problems and you will have to decide how vital it is to take it and accept the regresssion. Try the charcoal and epsom salt baths while this is happening. Carol F. SCD, 6 years
Guest guest
The homeopathic didn't make me sick, it made me well. I didn't try charcoal becz it was downstairs & I felt so weak & wobbly I might have fallen down the stairs. I tried to call dh but he couldn't hear me (asleep on the couch). I'll try the charcoal next time & I'll take some today. No time for baths! Guest guest
Yogurt can definitely trigger more die-off. Patti Sick or reaction? Guest guest
I've known people who have spent a lot of time training people to help them in home only to have it not work out or have something really awful happen with the people who were supposed to be " helping " them, so I'm a bit put off by it for that reason. It would be a lot of effort. Sometimes it works out great but so often it doesn't & then it's alot of wasted effort. I was surprised at the kind of " die off reaction " that was though; kinda scary!
