Guest guest
> wtg u r doing really good any pointers for me. Hugs marg EAT, that's what I've been doing. I'm not taking any of the protein supplements because I feel I'm getting everything I need from the foods I eat. I'm taking Citucil, my vitamins and Actigall. It's hard to break the diet mentality, but that's exactly what I've been trying to do. I concentrate on eating healthy, but if I see something I want to eat, I try it. I had a piece of chocolate cake yesterday. It was so thin you could almost see through it, but it was all I wanted and it satisfied me. In fact I didn't even eat all of it. I only weigh once a week because I don't want to concentrate on the weight. I had this surgery because at 50 , I felt bad all the time. If I stopped losing right now, it would have been worth having the surgery because I feel so much better physically after having lost the 36 lbs. I also feel better mentally because I know that 36 lbs. is never coming back. I'm concentrating on living my life and the weight will come off. Even a 1 lb. loss is better that what I was doing on my own. I wish you all the best in your journey. Guest guest
Welcome , I am still preop but am dancing on Sept 28. My parents live in Broken Arrow and I went to nursing school in Claremore so I know your stomping grounds. I would be glad to share anything I know to this point. Guest guest
Hi , I think you need to ask different post-ops individually to be contacts, otherwise most will think that someone else will respond. Ruqayya
Guest guest
Hi everyone, Haven't been reading the lists lately, but, wanted to give an update. At the 2 month mark, I've lost 32 lbs. and am THRILLED! I feel great and can eat EVERYTHING!! And, I do mean EVERYTHING! I haven't had any dumping, nausea, or vomiting. Didn't have acid reflux before the surgery and don't have it now either. Have absolutely no tummy problems. Oh the best, I fit in an airplane seat - wahoo! I took a trip this weekend and only infringed on my neighbors seat just a little bit. And, the seatbelt actually had about 5 inches left. Before surgery, I was just about at the point where I needed a belt extender. Had some troubles with sleep but my PCP gave me a RX which is helping. Finally started to exercise (walking) and am able to get around much better now. All my bloodwork is great. My PCP is thrilled with the results. For any pre-ops on the list, go for it. I'm so glad I did and am thankful everyday that Dr. Rutledge shares his wonderful skill with us. Sincerely, Bernardine , TX MGB 7/24/00 248/
