Guest guest
I cant say that I am happy about hearing a fellow Canadian speak so badly about our medical system . You just havent been to the right doctor or else havent accepted the fact that this disease is here to stay and the secret is learning to live with it the best you can. I am appalled. from Canada
Guest guest
Another thing you could look into where there would be no cost to you is a clinical trial. I found a site that lists 3 trials wanting to recruit people, but I don't think you fit them, or not as yet anyway...but there are two doctors in Toronto heading the trials for Canada, and it can't hurt to contact them and see if they can help you at all. Here is the info on the doctors..email them or look their names up online for contact details. Canada, Ontario University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, Canada; Not yet recruiting Marshall, MD john.marshall@... Ori Rotstein, MD orotstein@... Ori Rotstein, MD, Sub-Investigator Marshall, MD, Sub-Investigator ....and here is the site I found.. http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct/action/GetStudy ....and another one.. http://www.centerwatch.com/patient/studies/cat436.html ....and more http://www.biotrin.ie/clinician/acutepanc.htm http://www.clevelandclinic.org/gastro/endoscopy/trials.htm There are many more...I just typed in " clinical trials for pancreatitis " in my browser and these are a few that it gave me. Hope they help for you. Getting into a clinical trial is usually all paid for by the hospital, including getting you there and back and accomodation...the con is that it is not a proven cure, procedure or medicine and you are the guinea pig. That is how I got around getting help for another illness I have been unfortunate enough to have inherited, when my insurance company wouldn't cover me for anything experimental..or outside the area of my coverage.
