I don't think you can. Someone mentioned one time about cooking with wine and

it was a no-no. If I were you I wouldn't take a chance of drinking and having

an attack. Stick with diet soda or water.

Hope this is helpful

Judy,

I think all would agree that we need to stay away from alcohol completely-

" non-alcoholic " beers included.

Be well,

non-alcohol beer?

Does anyone know if non-alcohol beer is safe to drink? I do

know it contains a tiny amount of alcohol. I never drank much in

my lifetime but someone asked me at a family gathering if I'd be

able to drink the non-alcohol beer or wine and I couldn't give

them an answer. I'm too afraid to upset my pancreas so I've

avoided anything with alcohol including using skin products

containing it.

Hi,

I was advised by my specialist to stay away from all alcohol no matter

how small the amount. That includes so called non-alcoholic beers and

fre-wine AND cough medicines, nyquil, raw vanilla and so on. He did say

that cooking with wine would be fine as all the alcohol cooks off and

all your left with is the flavor. But that a sensitive pancreas may be

upset with the flavor. I make a " mean " blue ribbon winning spaghetti

sauce thats takes 3 cups burgundy wine, thats why I asked him. Well,

let me tell you that at a Christmas party that was catered at a Country

Club they served some beef with a wine sauce. It didn't take long

before my pancreas was hurting. So no cooking for me with alcohol darn

it, but you could be different.

I have heard of others going as far as to stay away from products with

alcohol in them, but it is my understanding that unless you ingest (sp)

it, there should be no problem with the product, like mouth wash. But

your pancreas could be different. We are all different and what hurts

one may not bother another.

It is my choice to stay away from drinking and cooking with alcohol as I

all too readily remember what an attack feels like, how long it lasts

and how long it takes me away from my son and husband and that price is

just to high to pay for a moments taste on the lips.

Hope this helps.
