Guest guest
Oh no; didn't mean to imply that! We'd all be doing SCD. He & my 2 others ( & me) are GFCF right now, so I'd be transitioning them, & the other one eats anything right now so it will be really tough for him. Sorry for the confusion, Michele > > > > I'm considering an SCD counselor, but is there anyone who still offers > > their time to do this without huge fees? > > > > I have such varied situations to deal with here between the kids, my > > autistic one who is GFCF, my one who eats anything right now, other > > food allergies, & my own issues, picky eaters, sensory issues, that I > > do think it will be tough to go it alone, at first anyway. > > > > Dh has had it with the food bills & I'm hoping the level of from > > scratch cooking on SCD will actually save $. Guest guest
Carol and Michele, I'm a little confused about this since it came up in your recent posts. I'm doing SCD for myself and do not have a reasont to avoid casien. But I thought I had a handle on it and understood that many people on pecanbread were doing SCD while also avoiding casein which effectively meant that they were GFCF in addition to doing SCD (even though they would be avoiding the starchy substitutions that non-SCD GFCF people use). I thought this was one of the main ideas behind the formation of this group. Have I been wrong? Is pecanbread actually a group meant to advocate that parents should include casien in their children's diets in order to do SCD correctly? It's gluten-free because we eliminate all grains. So SCD is automatically GF. It's also SF. SCD as written, includes dairy products. It was determined that many people who could not handle SCD cow yogurt could handle SCD goat yogurt. For those who cannot handle dairy, there's always SCD nut yogurt. This group doesn't advocate the inclusion of dairy. It also doesn't advocate the exlusion of dairy. SCD is about healing guts. So is Pecan Bread. -- Marilyn (New Orleans, Louisiana, USA) Undiagnosed IBS 25 Years, SCD Five Years Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
