Guest guest
Cream cheese is a " fresh " cheese.... not aged... so not legal. Mozzarella is not legal for the same reason... not aged long enough, so still contains lactose. Patti Cream cheese--why illegal? Hi! Could someone answer that? Sometimes there is a little note on the food list--curious. Thanks! Lorraine
Guest guest
Hi Lorraine, > Could someone answer that? Sometimes there is a little note on the food > list--curious. Commercial cream cheese is illegal because it contains too much lactose and often times SCD illegals. You can make your own by dripping SCD yogurt. Go To the " Beginners " guide at http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/ then go to " SCD yogurt " and scroll down until you see " how to drip yoghurt - pictorial guide " I sometimes flavour our dripped yogurt with homemade jam or frozen fruit to make a flavoured " SCD cream cheese " .
