Guest guest
Hi Sue, If the doctor doesn't know what the rash is why is he prescribing antibiotics? Is the rash infected? Sheila > The antibiotic I was prescribed is Sulfamethoxazole. Is this a Sulfa? If so I think it is safe per Elaine's website. Would you agree? > > Sue > SCD 6 mths, CC 25 yrs > > >
Guest guest
Hi Sue, Yes, it is a sulfa drug. I don't know how safe as it has been linked to C. diff (occasionally) see http://www.emedicine.com/med/topic3412.htm http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi? cmd=Retrieve & db=PubMed & list_uids=8104968 & dopt=Abstract Were you prescribed just sulfamethoxazole or trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole?
