Guest guest
I think I read somewhere that you are not necessarily recommending 'Dole pineapple in its own juice' anymore. Is that correct? I was at the store the other day and saw some. Out of curiosity I read the ingredients. These are both labeled as being in its own juice. The 'Crushed Pineapple' said pineapple and pineapple juice. The 'Pineapple Slices' said pineapple, pineapple juice, water, and clarified pineapple juice concentrate. If I remember correctly, the 'Pineapple in pineapple juice' had the same ingredients as the slices did. I wonder why there is a difference between the ones labeled 'in it's own juice.' Between the two listed above, which one has the same ingredients as the one that was previously recommended? Maybe it would still be OK to use one of them and we just need to read the ingredients to differentiate. -Sharon

Del Monte makes good pineapple packed in its own juice. Dole says the sweetness of the fruit varies seasonally and they compensate by adding some corn stuff. If it is packed IN ITS OWN JUICE it is legal. If it is packed IN PINEAPPLE JUICE it is not. Carol F.
