Guest guest
Hi Chrissy: Thanks for your kind note...I believe that I may just have to pursue seeing Dr. Lehman. Did you ever see him? I can't remember...although you seem to indicate here that you went to Cincinatti so don't know if you started in Cinci or not. I can't seem to remember my geography well here....what is closer? Cinci or Indy? Guess I'll have to look up a US map. I know you're on the east coast as I am though Chrissy, so I s'pose that you have to travel roughly the same distance as I would. What finally influenced you enough to travel that kind of distance if you don't mind me asking? Or is it the usual....not finding a doc worth his/her salt in your immediate area? I do not have the time to wait....pretty soon that job of mine is going to let me go I just know it based on some " fitness for duty " report (kind of like the military but I'm a civilian.) I don't have all that much time to use under the FMLA and the work at home thing has been good but I haven't even been able to do that in almost 3 weeks now. I've been just too ill and not willing to put myself thru the stress of what is now the beginning of the " throes " of the highly stressful end of fiscal year financial closeout. I was at work last yr and yr before sometimes from 730 am until 1000 pm and that wasn't even enough!! The job calls for sharpness, analytical thinking, and mental acuity -- none of which I have at all right now. I keep thinking well, maybe tomorrow I can get something done because I live in fear of them saying " this isn't working out " (the work at home thing.) And as I've told you I have the health insurance, etc. And yet, I STILL cannot force myself to do it....I just ain't got it lately. So, better sooner than later to put the call in to Dr. Lehman while I still have the health insurance!!! At any rate, I can relate to the nausea and pain thing..although the patch has helped tremendously for almost full coverage of the pain. Just a few break thrus...maybe one or two a day where I have to supplement with the Percocets. I sure hope you're feeling better soon Chrissy. How long have you had this disease anyway? It seems to me that your progressed rather quickly...or was it Heidi or both of you? Can't remember at the moment....forgive me. Best of luck in your decision. But although I don't know your exact circumstances...I would say just get it over and done with. After all those surgeries...you have definitely suffered enough with this. I do sooo hope you have enough islets to get thru w/o the brittle diabetes coming as a result. Anyway, long message.....but best wishes to you and thanks for you kind words of encouragement. Always appreciated!! love
