Hi , I bought the little juicy-juice drink boxes and Tropicana

Orange juice has a small juice box also. Individual paks of jello was

really good immediately after surgery and yogurt was divine! I took

bouillon crystals and mixed small amounts of broth in little 2-3 oz

paper cups. a package of saltine crackers is also a must! Good luck!

Hi , What I took to the hospital and what I used are two

different lists. I will tell you what I used. A Robe that opens in

the front is a must if you don't want to be hanging it all out. I

used slippers just to add padding to my heal spur, but they do have

footies on you so they aren't really needed, A comb, toothpaste and

toothbrush. I think I used a chap stick once. Everything else never

came out of the bag. My insurance sent me a guided imagery cd to

listen to before and during surgery, but I think I turned it off to

hear the nurse in the holding area, and the next thing you know I was

in recovery. You are in and out of there so fast you really don't

need much. You are either lying in bed trying to sleep or walking the

halls to get rid of the gas. We had a parade of five of us walking

around the nurse's station and for some reason there were cops

standing in the hall watching the procession, quite a site to see!

None of us ever even took a shower; we just wanted to get out of

there so we could get some uninterrupted sleep. The staff was very

pleasant. We did not get to see Dr. R the next morning because he was

dealing with a complication at .

I ate mostly yogurt, a four once container probably at least two or

three times a day. That sat well with my tummy, and tasted more like

real food than the juices. I had sf carnation instant breakfast with

protein powder and skim milk, broth from chicken noodle soup,

Gatorade, water. The OJ with Citrucel equaled two meals a day. I ate

out three times, all broth from soups, like vegetable, chicken noodle

and won-ton soup, others had tomato soup and sf Jell-O and sf

Popsicles. I took way too much food and I hated eating leftovers, and

there was plenty of that. I threw away so much stuff that I feel like

you should just buy it as you go, in the smallest sizes you can get.

I was at the Hawthorn and there is a Food lion right next door, I

even walked there morning of day 3 with no problem.

This post is getting too long so I will stop for now, hope this helps

some.

I hope your surgery is as great as mine, 28 minutes and no nausea.
