Have you asked your doctor for a referal to a pain clinic? Many docs

are ill prepared to deal with pain control in chronic pancreatitis.

Mine's great, because he is also the hospice doc but many docs are

clueless. There are a lot of pain control options, such as duragesic

patches, a lot of different drugs besides the two you mentioned...but

you need to get to someone who knows something about all these

options and can prescribe them for you.

Ask for a referal. There is help, and there is pain relief out there-

you just need to get to the right specialist.

Anyse,

if the doctor doesn't want to treat your pain, either get a new doctor

or ask if he's willing to send you to a pain clinic to treat your pain.

However, I'd check with the pain clinic first to make sure that they do

treat with oral pain meds, as not all pain clinics do. Some just do pain

blocks and biofeedback methods to deal with pain.
