Guest guest
Good luck to Savannah; may she do well enough to get home a day early! Love and highest hopes, n Rojas Savannah Savannah is going back to the hospital. She caught a cold that has settled in her lungs. She has been on oral antibiotics but to no avail. She will go in Sun. afternoon. Due to the flu we have to wait for a bed to open up. Her doctor said he would have something ready for her then. Her stay will be at least 10 days, so that puts us at Christmas Eve. I pray she will respond and will not spend this Christmas there.(been there done that) There is no computer at the hospital so I'll update when we get home. Guest guest
Hi all I have another update on Savannah....... " Katy, I just got to a computer. Savannah is still the same. I had to take my older daughter for oral surgery today so I missed speaking to the Dr. Thanks again for letting everyone know what's going on. Yes, she got toxic on Tobramycin. We did check her levels more than once and everything was fine. She started feeling a little bad Sun. afternoon (Dec.21) but nothing big. By Sun night the vomiting started and Mon. her levels were checked again and she was toxic. I'm so glad this all happened at the hospital. My understanding is that even though we stopped Tobramycin it was still having to metabolize thru her kidneys. Her kidneys just couldn't keep up and failed. They are still not sure if the brain swelling is secondary to that or not. What is really scary is watching your child lose everything even bodily functions. Savannah is resting peacefully even with all the equipment. Her color is good. I'm just waiting for her to wake up and give me a hard time. The # is . This is in the directly to her room. Got to get some sleep now. Take Care- " I am going to call tomorrow and I will let you all know her progress as soon as I can.
