Wouldn't it be better to try one supplement at a time to see if it benefits your child or if it causes side effects/adverse reaction. Perhaps you should ask the pharmacy these same questions. Guest guest
Janet, I was told the DMG can cause loose stools at first. I would imagine starting all the different supps might be a shock to your child's system?? I think sometimes that is a good sign-cleaning out the bad stuff. I would give it a few days before I worried too much about it. Of course, that is after I called and asked the Clinic!:-) Good luck! Janelle Keep up the liquids :-)

These do cause difficulty in some children. However, even if they do not cause difficulty, many times they cause loose stools for the first few weeks because they are cleaning out all the accumulated " gunk " in the intestinal tract. They had recommended we also > supplement with a cal/mag powder. There are a few calcium supplements that my son has not tolerated. > Do any of these have loose stools > as a side effect? I agree with the other reply here, you should ask to start each one of these things individually, not compounded together, to see which one/s are negatively affecting your child. Guest guest
The BrainChild ultra sensitive and others that we list as legal on the pecanbread.com supplement page ARE okay, despite the fact that they do contain the xanthan gum. Elaine discussed this with the head of the company and okayed it for use with our kids. The xanthan gum they use is a special pharmaceutical grade... and it's purpose is to keep the nutrients in suspension in the liquid. It has a low likelihood of feeding the bad gut bugs, because of the specific type that it is.... and Elaine felt this small amount (in the case of BrainChild products ONLY) was acceptable. Patti supplements Is there anyone who has used the brain child nutritionals ultra sensitive supplements with any success. I thought I saw on the list that they were legal. But I do think they contain xanthum gum. Please let me know if this is wrong. Thanks

Guest guest
Nyomi, We are not familiar with every brand name of vitamin supplement. You can look at the supplement list on www.pecanbread.com . There is a list of " Legal " and " Illegal " supplement additives there.... which you can compare to your supplements to see if they will be okay on SCD. You have to look at the product labels.... and go through ALL of the ingredients.
