Farmworker Justice's Poder Sano presents:

The Community Mobilization in Action Webinar Series

Title:

Media and PR – Planning

and Infrastructure to Position Your Organization for Success

Date:

Wednesday, June 16, 2010

Time:

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM EDT

About the Webinar:

Farmworker

Justice invites you to join us for a webinar featuring special

guest Alcazar, President & CEO of Hispanic

Communications Network, a company that manages media relations

and communications campaigns for non-profit organizations and

government agencies. This webinar is designed to help

organizations take the most important first steps – planning and

capacity building.

During the hour-long

program, Mr. Alcazar will discuss:

1) How can

my organization decide how to use the media?

2) How can my organization

define the goals of our media strategy?

3) How can my organization

learn about our target audience?

4) How can my organization

build a target media list?

5) Who in my organization

should work on PR and communications?

The Hispanic/Latino community is disproportionately affected by

diseases like HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis (TB), and for this reason

it is essential that we are able to effectively raise awareness of

health issues. Organizations like yours can help the media find

both information and compelling stories about how the people you

work with are affected by these issues. This webinar

will teach you how to create a media strategy and build relationships

with the media so that you no longer have to beg to get coverage –

they will contact you.

About Hispanic Communication Network (HCN):

Hispanic Communications Network (HCN) is a social and health

marketing and media organization that reaches and involves US

Hispanic communities in health and social justice matters that

affect their lives through all-encompassing communications

solutions. HCN has a successful record of working with

and serving ethnically and culturally diverse Hispanic communities

ranging from Spanish-dominant community members to English-speaking

Latinos. HCN is currently the largest source of

Spanish-language educational and informational media content in the

US.

After registering you will receive a confirmation

email containing information about joining the Webinar.
