Guest guest
Sara, I got high blood pressure when I was pregnant with and so I am trying to watch the salt now that I am pregnant again. I am working on this now, so I cant say that I can help much, but I know what you are going through. My best advice is don't cook with salt and just salt the heck out of Zach's stuff. We also have to be careful with the salt because my M-I-L has high blood pressure and she loves to cook for . (but she is really good at remembering to put a ton of salt on the Queen's meal) Good luck and let me know if you come up with any good ideas! Mom of 5 with CF and one on the way High Blood Pressure My husband was diagnosed today with high blood pressure. He has had a headache for 5 days straight. We are so worried. We hope his medication works. This will be hard since will need a low sodium, low fat diet and Zach needs the opposite. Has anyone had any experience with this situation? Guest guest
Sara, It will take a few weeks for the high blood pressure medicine to reach a good level. It also may take changing medicine due to side effects and such. Don't be afraid to check with the doc if he has side affects, there are lots of different medications that can be used. As far as diet goes, we have a similar situation in our household. My husband has high blood pressure, atrial fibrilation, over weight, back problems and who knows what else. We are all overweight in our house hold except for Steph. It is not going to hurt Zach to eat what you all eat you will just have to supplement his diet with more calories or treats elsewhere. has a cupboard that is full of snacks and such that are just for her. Good luck and I hope your husbands blood pressure is under control soon and he feels better. Tina W., mother of , 18yo wcf High Blood Pressure My husband was diagnosed today with high blood pressure. Guest guest
Sara, Your husband should have his intracellular magnesium levels checked. Most high blood pressure is often corrected by correcting magnesium deficiency. If he begins taking magnesium, he may be able to reduce or discontinue blood pressure meds. So discuss this with his doctor and insist on testing intracellular levels, NOT blood levels. For more info, go to http:www.exatest.com and http:www.krispin.com (click on magnesium). , congratulations on your pregnancy. I didn't know you were expecting. I hope things go well for you. Because of your high b/p diagnosis, you too should have your intracellular Mg levels checked. If you're Mg-deficient, then you are at risk for early labor and loss of bone density (and increased risk of cavities and dental problems during pregnancy). If either of you decide to have Mg levels checked by blood (instead of intracellular), just remember that an " in-range " result isn't accurate and you can still be deficient.
