Guest guest
Fiona, some years ago, before I was dx with rp I tried acupuncture for back pain, and asthma. I went to a doctor of Chinese medicine in London, I went several times and the back pain got worse during the sessions, I think because of the position I was lying in, and he tried adding smoking " incense " like stuff, which made my breathing difficulties worse. I don't really believe in " alternative medicine " . I would rather use medicines that have been checked out by the FDA or their European equivalents; however I do beleive that used as " complementary medicine " some of the techniques can help us cope with the problems that we have, such as massage can help with pain. the difficulty is finding the combination of meds and techniques that help each one of us individually. I also believe firmly (from experience) that exercise helps with pain (I don't think it gets rid of it, but it helps us cope!!) Here I go, preaching again, lol - love to all Liz __________________________________________________
