Guest guest
Hi Just wondering if anyone else has cultured fungal bugs as a result of using steroid based asthma puffers? How do you successfully treat both your CF and Asthma. Kristy's normal asthma medication is: Ventolin - 4 puffs as required Serevent - 2 puffs am and pm Atrovent - 2 puffs am and pm Qvar (50) - 2 inhalations am and pm Singulair - 1 tablet daily Kristy takes pulmozyme daily for CF. Kristy's GP increased her Qvar approx 4 weeks ago based on Kristy's condition when he saw her. We were to continue with the higher dose until she was better. Two days later she had a night in hospital due to breathing problems which were remedied with nebulised ventolin and atrovent. Kristy is much better, her cough almost dry now but she still experiences chest tightness. Kristy's specialist (we saw on Monday) didn't appear to be happy about this and said to taper off the Qvar immediately as Kristy's chest was perfectly clear and we're not going down the road of her growing fungal bugs again. Last night Kristy again experienced breathing problems and chest tightness, which required numerous puffs of ventolin before it settled. Today she has used her ventolin twice as often due to chest tightness.....I've made an appointment to see the GP again on Friday because where Kristy's asthma is concerned I have most confidence in him. Krsity's GP, Kristy and I all believe she has asthma, sometimes I feel the specialist doesn't believe it.
