Guest guest
, Ricky takes a prescription vitamin w/fluoride and iron, and our CF doc prescribes a vitamin k pill called mephyton. He takes one tablet three times a week, and it is covered by the insurance. It can also be compounded with a syrup if a child is not able to take a pill. Maybe ask your doc about prescribing mephyton?? Good luck! Becky mom of Ricky (8) with CF and Andy (5) no CF San , CA http://www.beckydavis.com > I need some help. Guest guest
You could switch to ABDEK. They are not bad tasting & they are a smooth smaller gel capsule-so easy to take. For a wee baby, a small hole can be pierced & squeezed into babies mouth . Has the added B vitamin as well. Call if we can help 1- . NOT expensive. Guest guest
You could switch to VITAMAX which are a children's chewable version of ADEK's and they come in Orange and Grape. We had the same problem with ADEK's but did fine with the VITAMAX. We ordered from the CF pharmacy. Kelli > You could switch to ABDEK. Guest guest
If your child likes foods made with mayo, try using Miracle Whip salad dressing. One tablespoon of it has 10% of the USRDA for Vitamin K. A tablespoon is a lot to put on a sandwich for a child, but if you make devilled eggs or potato/macaroni salad or egg salad with one or two meals each day, the benefits could add up. ~ Are there > any other supplements/food sources that can help supply vitamin k? > Thanks! > Wendi mom to Peyton 3 wcf
