Guest guest
Many have reported additional die-off symptoms when introducing yogurt and/or probiotics. However, I do also know now that the probiotics... in the yogurt, or in supplement form... can trigger the body to dissolve calcium oxylate crystals. That is a GOOD thing, generally.... but may cause discomfort as the body has to deal with oxalic acid as a waste product, and it can be irritating to the gut. This is not something that we have known a lot about here on pecanbread, but it was explained by one of our members, Tamaro, who has recently written a research paper regarding the need for supplemental Vitamin K for kids with autism (and seizure) to dissolve oxylate crystals in the brain and other organs.... and allow the body to put calcium back in the bones and teeth, where it belongs. If you want to know more about this idea, please go read 's article at: http://gutresearch.com/v1.html If you suspect this is possibly what's going on with your child, you could also join the Vitamin K list that started: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/VitaminK/ Those of us that are following that list, and 's protocol, are supplementing Vitamin K2, along with Vitamin D and plenty of SCD yogurt (for those who are on SCD). Patti What is: " Die off symptoms " ........ ) I am a little confused about what I am seeing and what others in this group have 100 % clear experince about, regarding the " Die-off-symptoms " when both small amounts of goat-yoghurt and Kirkmann's Probiotic are both introduced ! Can someone please explain for me how one can see in ones child - (non verbal, 9 year old boy and ex. seizures (knock on wood !)) and on the SCD for now a little year, with really good results regarding both seizure-frequence, eye-contact, activity and well-beeing - that it is in fact the " Die-off-symptoms " that maybe is making him somewhat upset/ stressed in his own way in this period when both of them are introduced ( For how long time will this " Die-off-symptoms " last, according to others experince for the ASD-children on the diet ? Regards and thanks / Allan
